Our region had been forever scared in 1916, by the outrageous number of victims during the Battle of the Somme. This battle included 30 different nations. Today, the scars are still visible all over our landscapes. The Somme 1916 Tour invites to come and discover the Somme battlefields along with their vestiges, cemeteries and impressive memorials.
NEW: As of this year, the Somme 1916 Museum, in association with the Albert Tourist Office, Albert Transport and the Ibis Hotel, offer the possibility for you to discover the sites of the Great War in the Somme. We are able to cater for 7 people maximum per vehicle with a guide and driver. These extraordinary visits of the Battlefields are offered under two different packages:
Half day Program:

Longueval South African Memorial and museum (photo pause)

Rancourt to see the Chapel and the German cemetery

A stop at the Vaux outlook and a short 15 minute walk.

The valley of the Haut-Somme has multiple landscapes enlisted in the Natura 2000 program and a recognized European flora and fauna. We offer the possibility to visit three sites within this valley.
- Vaux outlook, you'll learn the troubled history of the Somme Valley along with its meanders and reed beds.
- Frise outlook, here we will share the natural richness of the valley, flora and fauna. We will speak about the Marsh Harrier, Mirror Blue Throat, the swamp ferns, wild orchards, origan, pasque-flowers, "Bird Cabaret"....
- Cesar Camp Outlook will give a panoramic view of the Mericourt sur Somme Marsh, you'll be able to better understand the secular intersection between man and nature in this valley.
Half Day Nature program:
